Between the sculpting, molding, painting, and careful shipping your lucky figurine has been touched 1,500 times before heading to your home to bring you good fortune. The painting process alone takes careful craftsmanship, and the color pallette for My Little Horseshoe consists of 17 colors. Special care must be taken on tricky elements like the squares of the skirt, or the curls on the girl’s headscarf. The curls are drawn with a special feather, and the technique involves careful shifts in pressure as the paint is applied to give the varying thickness of each swirl of the paint. Any mistakes would mean starting over, so our Hummel artisans take painstaking care with your figurine to get it just right
